- משמוטא
- מַשְׁמוֹטָאm. (שְׁמַט) a sneak thief, opp. to לסטיס. Ab. Zar.15b במ׳ דזימניןוכ׳ (Ms. M., במשמיטא בעלמא, Rashi במשמוטי׳) it refers to an (ordinary) thief who sometimes commits murder to save his own life.
